Schools enter a new age where publishers offer them their digital content catalogue online through a pay-per-user model.
Simultaneously, schools offer digital resources to their students and teachers through a unique access point called usually Campus or Portal or Digital Learning Environment.

This is not e-learning but a digitalization of the educational interaction. Publishers find here a nice opportunity to offer more for less and articulate eBooks and text content with their multimedia (ex-CD-ROM) catalogue. Schools pay a fair price calculated on their effective use of these resources.
Through a partnership with the Paris V University, Dokeos has developed a CAS Authentication module that allows connecting schools to publishers, transforming the Dokeos portal into an online digital content access point. The LDAP layer of Dokeos was completely redeveloped for the occasion.
This new feature, opening the world of digital media to schools, will be available for all and for free in Dokeos FREE 1.8.7, whose release is expected May 2010.
